Report on Estonia and Netherlands delegation
We are delighted to inform you that, in response to the invitation from the Estonia Embassy in India, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), through its Committee for Development of International Trade, Services, and WTO (CDITSWTO), successfully organized a delegation tour to Estonia and Netherlands. The tour took place from 23rd to 29th May 2023, with a group of 13 delegates. The delegation was led by CA. Dheeraj Kumar Khandelwal, a distinguished Central Council member and Chairman of CDITSWTO.
Primary Purpose & Investment Integration
The primary purpose of this delegation tour was to pursue investment opportunities in Estonia, with a particular focus on leveraging the Latitude59 program, which serves as a flagship platform for startups in Estonia. Additionally, the delegation aimed to showcase the expertise of Indian accounting professionals in cross-border investments, mergers and acquisitions, as well as provide mentorship to startups and assist fund houses in identifying suitable investments. The delegation also aimed to offer advisory services to corporate entities in the areas of taxation, law, and other related compliance matters.
Key Strategic Engagements & Outcomes
The Estonian embassy efficiently coordinated a series of engagements for the delegation, including a meeting with Defence Demo, a comprehensive briefing at the E-Estonia Briefing Centre, a productive interaction with the Indian Embassy in Tallinn, active participation at Latitude59, engaging with the Beamline Accelerator, and networking opportunities on the sidelines of the Latitude event on 24th and 25th May 2023. Additionally, ICAI Netherlands chapter and IDFC are jointly organizing an event titled "Mobilizing Startup Ecosystem" between India and the Netherlands, scheduled for 26th May 2023.

Borderless Profession: India–UK Global Summit & Delegation
The recently concluded India–UK Global Summit at the prestigious ICAEW Auditorium, London, marked an important step towards strengthening collaboration between two of the world's most respected accounting ecosystems. Organised by the Global Trade & Services Committee, ICAI in collaboration with ICAEW and hosted by the London (UK) Chapter of ICAI, the summit brought together over 90 participants. The event also coincided with the 25-member ICAI UK Delegation visit, marking a significant initiative towards strengthening India–UK professional collaboration and expanding global opportunities for Indian Chartered Accountants.
Theme & Inaugural Session
The summit focused on a defining theme - the emergence of a truly borderless profession, where Chartered Accountants are increasingly contributing across global markets through technology, mobility, and specialised expertise. The programme commenced with an insightful inaugural session where distinguished dignitaries including Mr. David Franklin, Deputy CEO, ICAEW, and Ms. Nidhi Mani Tripathi, Hon'ble Minister (Economic), High Commission of India, London, shared perspectives on the growing India–UK partnership, global mobility, and the evolving role of Chartered Accountants.
Key Sessions & Panel Discussions

A dedicated session on "Pathways for ICAEW" featured CA Mayuri Chordia and Mr. Doug Withington discussing international pathways and opportunities for Indian Chartered Accountants.

The summit also featured an engaging panel discussion on "India–UK Professional Services Partnership: FTA, Recognition & Mobility", moderated by CA Vineet Jain, with panelists including CA Amit Jain and Ms. Honey Dave, Partner, Laytons Law Firm.

Another key session titled "Anywhere Client, Anywhere Practice: The Rise of the Global Chartered Accountant" featured an insightful discussion with Mr. Balaji V., Managing Partner & CEO, Audit Corpus; Mr. David Potts MICA, Director of Policy & Regulations, The Association of International Accountants; and CA Vipul Kothari, Managing Partner, Kothari Auditors, Dubai – UAE. The discussion highlighted how AI, technology, GCCs, and digital delivery models are reshaping global professional practice.

The India–UK Global Summit reflected the growing international presence of Indian Chartered Accountants and reaffirmed the commitment of the Global Trade & Services Committee, ICAI towards creating greater global opportunities, professional mobility, and international collaborations for the profession.
